The bold 2 9700 blows them out the water. Even though it has the same processor speed as the first bold, its a huge difference. Im assuming its all software related that makes it snappy.

This basically confirms my theory on why BlackBerry's wont be adapting the Snapdragon processor anytime soon... The Bold 2 only has a 624MHz processor (a la Bold 9000) along with 256MB RAM (a la Curve 8900) yet the refinement of OS 5.0 is plain to see when comparing to older models...
My Storm 2's OS 5.0 is faster than the Curve 8520 i used to have - very snappy and responsive... I swear to you all - if RIM nail the Java VM thing on the head and stop the memory leaks, then the BlackBerry smartphone platform would be a formidable competitor... Once that's been done then RIM could possibly afford the luxury of jazzing up it's GUI (like HTC Sense for example)
