It seems to be working now. I found my original USB cable and installed the latest DM. I think the cable might have fixed it though. Weird because I have used the same generic cables on my Windows laptop without a problem. I just did a sync and backup with no problem. I do like this Mac version of DM, much less confusing. BTW, I didn't change how I booted up. I am not even sure how to boot in 32 bit mode. I am a noob to Macs. Thanks for all the help. No one in a Mac forum offered much help, since I think they all use iPhones and not much Blackberrys.
