You're reading into the statement from another forum what you want it to say. You don't know the history of BlackBerry devices. You know very very little. In the past, there was ONLY device memory on the device, say 64MB or 16MB and that was ALL there was. As the devices evolved, in order to keep the secure device memory, RIM cordoned off a section as the device memory, which stays secure. Upon the introduction of the multimedia devices, starting with the 8100 Pearl, low memory errors began to occur, and RIM increased the the additional storage memory by adding the Media Card and then an additional onboard memory.

Could they make the device memory even greater? Yes, they could, they have (re: 95xx and 8900). Can they do more? Expect them to.

No one can enlighten you and there is no need here for anyone else to try.
