As far as FB notifications, isn't there a daily digest notification format? I was just wondering. Maybe that's the reason they are delayed. However, it probably is a signal problem I would bet.

Yes, you may have to go to the settings of whatever social network is giving you too many notifications. Then, have them turned off, or unsubscribe to them as someone mentioned above.
