For monitroring, it is personal preference, we use Operations Manager with some custom monitors for specific events on the BES Servers to trigger alerts.

If you on BES, the logging is configured on the BES Server can be enable or disabled from the BES Server. You have no control of that, since your IT Department controls the IT Policy.

I agree, seperate accounts. We currently do that as well as former employers as well and it is best practice as well for security concerns.
