It's possible to connecto through BIS. For example google talk, yahoo messenger and even google maps is connecting though it on my BB 8707V (Vodafone)

It doesn't have EDGE, as it has something faster which is 3G / HDSPA.

I don't know where you took the information bigdongers but the 8707 is powered by a 312MHz Intel PXA901 processor.

I confirm that I connect succesfully with a 7100V...

I confirm that I connect succesfully with a 7100V with blackberry.net APN, but can navigate with it. I guess something to do with DNS or other network config...

Does anybody have a suggestion?

Well after many tries I passed from "not able to connect" 784 error If i don't remember bad, to connected to the network.

I used other APN different from the VODAFONE ES default GPRS...
