No to answer your question. Definitely not damp/wet, although possibly dropped, but not violently and only possibly on a carpet.

Remove the back cover and check if your memory card has become loose / dislodged from under /along side the battery.

Taking it out, blowing it clean and replacing it wouldn't harm either.
