Though no one replied to this, but I was able to solve this prob. Uninstalling and installing efforts for 5 times did the trick and now my phone with yahoo mess is working great.

I am having the same prob, the phone volume is very less but no alternative available. have to live with it

I bought a new 7100t last week. It had v3.8 software on it and everything was working fine. The instant messaging - yahoo was working...
