No. Fido doesnt have UMA on their network. For those that can get Gmail working with wi-fi only, I assume you are on the T-Mobile network. They provide UMA and a feature enabler program it seems....

When you do a blackberry OS upgrade, does desktop manager erase the old OS and install the new one? Or is it an upgrade where it just updates the old OS?

the only programs that work over wi-fi are the ones created by RIM... blackberry browser, Facebook etc... Any third party applications wont use wi-fi unless u have UMA on your network. Don't forget...

The Blackberry 8320 having wi-fi is limited. The only program that can use the wi-fi connection is the Blackberry Browser... all third party programs...
ie. Opera Mini, JiveTalk even RIM's Instant...

I have a Blackberry 8320 on Fido. I have a BB data plan. I have the Blackberry Browser using Wi-fi.
Opera Mini and Jivetalk doesnt seem to work over wi-fi.

Jivetalk accesses the internet via BIS....
