It doesn't work on applications e.g. you tube, media, calls etc. The rocker makes a tone up and down but the actual volume only works intermittantly and when it does work the on-screen volume bars go...

If you turn off the back light in the options it unfortunately kills the screen too. There doesn't appear to be a way to independently control the keys or the screen.
