Re: BlackBerry Weighs Messenger Spinoff

Sigh, normally when a division like this gets spun off it is to maximize the revenue that is produced - in this case there is NO revenue from BBM, it has been used to drag hardware sales.

Spinning...

Re: BlackBerry Ltd. headed for Breakup?

Sadly, they are toast. Conventional wisdom is that in order to get any value for a buyer(s) the company will need to be broken apart as nobody wants the handset division.

In order to show maximum...

Re: overkill on q10 charging?

One of the battery life metrics is number of charge cycles. A charge cycle is NOT every time you plug the device in. One charge cycle equals going from 0% to 100% charge capacity.

So....charging a...

You don't hang out a public for sale sign unless you've exhausted all private negotiations (assuming they ever had any). It's the equivalent of yelling for a life vest after you have started to go...

Having done some M&A in the past, how would you even value them? Financials continue to drop, IP loosing value monthly, total addressable market lost in North America and Western Europe, and hardware...

Re: RIM success in 4Q, but too early to declare win

How about compromising on maybe :)

Re: BlackBerry in its case and eletro-static discharge

An ESD will almost never cause problems in a device. While the voltage may be high, the current is very low. Think of a plane getting hit by lightening (a fairly common thing). The electronics are...
