You must have selected the incorrect option. You most likely selected the option to Wipe Handheld and not ResetToDefault.

It is a data plan, just like you pay for your voice plan. It is an add-on. I don't know the price range. It is different here in the US. You would need to talk to Orange.

I would reboot your PC and try again. Also, make sure you're connected to a rear USB port on your PC and not a USB hub.

Backup your data.

Then I would download and install JL_Cmder and run the RestoreToFactory options. Once you've done that restore your data.
