You have AT&T? I could very well be mistaken but I think what he meant to say is that the GPS isn't locked for Verizon users. AT&T may still cripple it.

Doesn't the tour have a light sensor on it? If it detects high level of ambient light it will not turn the keyboard back light on. If you're not getting it to come on in low light situations though...
