Beta OS2 - PDFs from OS1 won't open?

owned the BBPB for 3 weeks. Love it. Downloaded OS2 (beta) and find that I can't open pdfs that were save on the PB in OS1. any others with this issue? thanks.

Exactly what is the name of the connecting wire I should acquire that has a USB connector on one end and a particular type of mini or micro USB? I am thinking of how the PB "talks" to one's home PC...
