I have the same issues. I miss the pop up alerts....

I have the same issues. I miss the pop up alerts. Even disabled PUSH services but it didn't help. :(

There is NO hack. SMS goes through your carrier. There is no way to bypass it.

I have an 8310 that I want to wipe email, contact and calendar events from before I give it to my brother to use.

I finally took the plunge and the new OS is great...

I finally took the plunge and the new OS is great IMO. It would have been nice to support HTML email through the OS though.
