That may get you where you want or almost there. What you want...

^+1 in addition to that follow the pre-requisites for BESAdmin service account. Must not have admin privileges, just regular user with escalated priv.

It defaults to external but will fail over to MDS after that and it works, sucks but that's how it is.

These are the list of different ways to have an app installed. So if you allow third party app download policy you can further control it by stating you can install it from the sd card or certain web...

Yes, Blackberry Enterprise Server Express will work on sbs2003. And spam, if in your mailbox subfolder you can see it but it will show spam msg as a message in your bb inbox.

I believe to activate playbook or any other qnx based or BB10 device you'll need to install Blackberry Device Service as well. It is like BES for QNX and BB10.

Blackberry Roles manage BESMGMT database tables hosted on SQL server. So they are more or less sql permissions.

Unfortunately there is nothing much you can do about it unless you find one outsource company that does both. Having services outsourced by third party by definition is not secure and whoever choose...

Problem is that email and BES are hosted by two different companies. What you suggest is best in-house practice but in OP case that may not be possible.

I think what OP meant is that whoever has BESAdmin credentials can open and view any bb user mailbox, which is correct.

Even if you don't do anything with a policies, a Default policy will be applied to a user. That should not prevent user to setup BIS email but would be better off if device is wiped to factory...

Are you using DNS round robin load balancer or hardware one? We have DNS one in place and I assume it has something to do with that.

SSO is very nice feature unless you have BAS pool setup. It does not work as well then since I kept getting "Page can not be displayed" if I click on some users tab etc. Then we disabled it and issue...

I mean that wasn't possible in any BES version but at least in 4.1 you could pick the IT policy while creating user. They've changed lots of things that I liked in 4.1 but at some point you make...
