This happens to me often. I just wait it out, shut it off for a little bit, and eventually it goes back to a normal keyboard. I didn't have to change my OS or anything. Try shutting it for a while.

You can manage all of your Contacts, Calender Events, Mail, and Tasks from Microsoft Outlook. Then just sync your BB to the PC through Desktop Manager and your information will be on your BB.
