Even Level 1 messages don't trigger notification events, just tested it. Are there other, more serious suggestions I might try to reinstall some of the software on this phone?

I've just upgraded from a blackberry 7250, where to unlock the keypad I simply had to select 'unlock'.

Now I have to hit * and the phone button.
