My text message box has gone! , my email icon and all the others are still there but the SMS icon has vanished. Any ideas how I get it back?

I have a Blackberry 8100 Pearl. I use Outlook Express for my calendar. Can I send updates on the calendar to my laptop (outlook) via bluetooth which I have on the laptop. If so, how?
