AOL Instant Messager

Hello,

This might seem like a newbe questions. I have a 7230 with T-Mobile ... they said the unit can do AOL IM but the only thing I see is that t-zone thing. Is that what they were talking about??

Is there anything else that can do AOL messaging that does not need BES server??

Thanks,

Vinnie

nope... enjoy hitting refresh every 5 secs or go with an external BES/MDS provider

You can do AOL messaging at a special WAP website, but you have to keep hitting refresh to receive new messages.

Alternatively, you can obtain an inexpensive MDS hosting service such as http://www.myblackberry.us and then get instant messaging working.

Or wait until around November/December when TMobile releases BlackBerryOS 4.0 ... which should permit your BlackBerry to run direct IM software without need for BES/MDS. (Or get MDS hosting till then)
