Got my Cingular Pearl today - I see no browser?

There is no Browser Icon on the main menu, and when I switch Apps with the menu key to the browser, I get:

Your device does not currently have Browser Configuration Service Book Entries.

Please contact your service provider to enable the Browser on your device.

Does this mean they screwed up in adding the BB package to my account?

Not necessarily. Go to:

Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table and click "Register Now".

If that doesn't do it, resend the service books (through your BIS, or if you're on a BES, contact your BES Admin).

If that STILL doesn't work, it may be on the provider's end.

When I go to Host Routing Table, I see a long list of Cingular __________

with numbers behind it.

The receipt shows he added my Blackberry package to my bill, maybe it takes awhile to activate?

And sorry, I'm unfamiliar with BIS. Brand new to BBs

My sales guy did a couple of shutdown startups before it registered and gave up the browser icon. Took about 5 minutes total.

Not sure about cingular but with T-mo it can take up to 48 hours for them to provision your BB, I had the same thing no browser finally two days later Voila!

Sending service books from my BIS account and registering didnt work.

Try removing your battery and starting the device from cold boot

I think I understand now why folks always tell people to do a search.

Have your Service Books resent.

Options, Advanced Options, Host Routing Table, Register Now

Another option to check

Hook your BB to your PC and use Desktop Manager, Application Loader

When you see the long list of numbers, click the menu button and select "Register Now".

Actually, there is a step in between Host Routing Table and Register Now.

You must either click the Menu button (8100) or the trackwheel (non Pearls) for the menu to appear and then you can select Register now.

Did you get a data package?

This is a problem if you did not get a data package when you signed up. You will not have the web browser. If you did sign up. You will need to set up your email and send the services books to your phone, this will force an OTA push with the links to the web, Good luck

I finally got it working, the girl on the support line changed my account up a little and had me do a few power cycles. It's working now.

I love it so far, now I just have to find a case, as of right now I have the ugly factory plastic on it

Oops. I guess its so second nature to me now that I forgot to mention that. I have to remember that in future. Thanks.
