search phone number
Is it possible to search to see if a specific phone number is in my address book? I tried the search application but it does not search numbers. It only searches name and text.

I dont think that you can search for number. I;ve tried several different ways, and cant get it to find numbers that are in my address book.
Anybody know of a way to do this? |
I just type the number in phone mode as if your making a call, then hang up, if its a match, it will show the address book entry in the recent calls list.

This is very interesting...I've never thought of this before. Now that I am, I don't think any mobile phone I've ever used had this functionality...I guess it's not considered a common functionality???

I do wish there was a method to search by number. If someone calls my Blackberry, the caller ID will reveal who they are. But, if someone calls on my other phone, and I dont have them in the phone book, it can be a chore to find out who called (I know, I could just call them back, but I get some calls I dont want to return )
I have a large number of contacts, and I think the ability to search numbers would be very helpful. |
