BIS problem

Hello all! I bought a 9000 from a guy last year, very happy with this phone but I have a problem. Now I use it in Italy on Wind, I have the BIS activated but I can`t use it... I have just the `Hotspot Browser` available, no e-mail and many other functions not available...what is wrong? I`ve also noticed that the IMEI behind the battery is different from the one showed at Status. Hope you understand my problem, thank you in advance for help!

Re: BIS problem

Do you have a BB data plan activated with your current carrier?

Did you cancel your BIS account with your previous carrier?

Which IMEI do you have registered in BIS?

I have a data plan activated with Wind, I use it also on my other BB phone (8120) and is working well. I don't know if the 1st owner had a data plan (maybe Orange, the phone has the logo on it) or not so I never canceled another account, I always used Wind. I don't know which IMEI is registered, from this phone or the 8120, I registered both...and just the 8120 is working, how can I find out? Thanks a lot!

Re: BIS problem

First, it sounds like there is nothing wrong with your BIS account on the carrier's end of things. You are getting BIS service on one device, but not when you switch to the second device.

Obvious question that I didn't see answered above: When you switch devices, are you switching the device PIN in BIS to correspond to the device you are using at that time?

Also, since it sounds like the device housing was changed (and thus numbers are different) you should be using the info from the device screen and not a sticker on the housing.

So, make sure the correct device information is in the BIS setup and re-send service books. Do that and let's see what you got.

...and 3 weeks later we do not know whether your advice was applicable and worked (which I suspect it did), then if so, it bugs me that people would not take the time to come back and say thank you.!
