Address book not installed

So I wanted to erase all my contacts on my Storm2 so I performed the RSET command on the Contacts option screen. Now when I tried to re-sync my Outlook 2007 contacts I get Address Book (not installed) when I click on Organizer in DM6. See attached screenshot of DM6.

For sure you do not have the address book app on the blackberry? Are you sure it is not hidden, in a folder, or hidden in a folder? Have you tried a hard reset? With the power on, remove the battery for at least 30 seconds.

If the above tips don't do it for you and the address book app is really gone, then reinstall it using desktop manager.

I do have the Address Book app in the BB however it is now empty. Have pulled the battery and went so far as to re-install 5.0.0.713.

See another screenshot. When I hit apply it seems to do something but when the BB restarts and I reconnect it still says the Address book is not installed. when I try to setup the Organizer Sync.

forgot to mention I am on BIS not BES so I can't wirelessly reload the Address Book. Is there any other way to reload it??????

If your address books appears to be empty, it is possible you have accidently set a filter and there are not matches. Open address book > menu > filter > make sure nothing is checked.

Or ... Your address book reaally is empty. If you have done a backup or sync'd with Outlook or something, then use Desktop Manager and restore the backup or re-sync.

so I backed up all my 3rd party apps, did a jl_cmder, reloaded 5.0.0.713, and then restored everything.

All is good now. So much for my Sunday.

Last night I installed the latest release from Inland Cellular (5.0.0.983) for the 9550, and I ran into the same problem, Address Book (not installed), and have resigned myself to having to redo the update again (UGGGG!) in order to fix this. I hope this is not caused by DDDM and trying to delete all of my Contacts in order to resync.

I also did the Inland install and got Address Book not installed. I then did a wipe and install of 730 but still have same problem.

Anyone know how to get my address book back?

I spent about 5 hours on line with RIM (I am not exaggerating) and the only thing that finally got me up and running okay was reseting to factory conditions (which actually still left me with 983 installed KB18998-How to reset the BlackBerry smartphone to factory defaults

Well I don't know what is going on. I reinstalled DM6 and was able to connect but now the organizer is again showing address book not installed.

If anyone else is having similar problems I would like to hear from them.

Did you get this figured out. I have the same thing with a 9550. On the device, the first bunch of contacts are blank, then my 600+ contacts are there. DM thinks no Address Book though. worked great with my 9530.
