Backlight issue

I've had my 9530 for more than a year, and it's been behaving otherwise. Recently, the backlight has started dimming even when I have it in full sunlight light.

I'll be outside, unholster it, and it'll be bright for a few seconds, then dim to where I really can't see it.

I've done battery pulls. No luck.

I've set it to 100% and never dim. No luck.

I don't think I changed anything near to the onset of the problem. I'm running v 5...328.

I'd welcome any ideas short of a complete wipe and reinstall (I've already had that idea and don't want to go through the annoyance if I can avoid it).

thanks,

-jk

I'm not sure this is any help, but I have a 9550 from VZW running .320 and it is my understanding that this is an OS issue that should be resolved in the next update. This dimming happens to me when I go into landscape mode. Feedback from the people that have installed the leaks seem to indicate that the dimming issue has been resolved. I am patiently waiting for it to be official.

This is a correct statement. It is a known issue that will be addressed in a future OS update.

I'm not sure it applies to me - my problem isn't related to the orientation or rotating. It's as if the sensor thinks its much darker than it really is.
