Ghost notification on the Curve 8520?

Hey all, just got my Blackberry and it's awesome so far, except for one small quirk. Every so often, my phone will vibrate and the red LED will start blinking. I proceed to check my texts, my voicemail, my emails, and the app store for updates, but nowhere can I find anything new. This goes away after awhile, but I'm not quite sure what to make of it. Does anyone know what's going on?

The only applications I have at the moment are Poynt, Pandora, Movies by Flixter, Dictionary.com, and The Weather Channel.

I sugest you to do a Wipe Handheld then.
You can do it going to "Options" --> "security Options" --> "General Settings" --> hit MENU button and choose "Wipe Hanheld".
PAY ATTENTION THAT THIS OPERATION WILL RESET YOUR BLACKBERRY, CAUSING TO LOOSE ALL INFORMATION STORED IN IT, SO BE SURE TO BACKUP FIRST :)

Go to the profile thing on the homescreen and click advanced. Choose the profile you're using and check each app listed to see which ones are set to notify you. Also check the alarm clock, and calendar. If you're using the gmail app check it's options, but it should be under profile above.

And do a battery pull before resorting to wiping the device.
wiping really is a last resort option.
