I need to get chinese on my blackberry curve 8330!! please help me!

Hi, I just recently got my mom a blackberry curve--- i was wondering if anyone knows of a way to get chinese software on it. I want her to be able to navigate through the menus a little easier. I have read about people putting software on their phone in China or Hong Kong, and was wondering if it's possible for a U.S phone to have chinese software----

thanks in advance!

Just make sure that the OS version that you have installed includes the Asian language version... then it's just a matter of selecting the language of your choice.

Go to this site, BlackBerry - BlackBerry Desktop and Device Software Download Sites and choose one of Asia Pacific's Carriers.

At the top of every specific BlackBerry forum (in this case the 8300 forum) there are links to the latest versions of the handheld OS.

I have replied to some posts last night and eventually get the post count up to 10 :-)

I posted a new thread here about [link: how I install the language support for my 8900]

For easier reference, I also copy and paste the content here

I managed to install East Asian Language support to my BlackBerry 8900 Curve. I have been searching through lots of posts in order to find out how to just install the language support without upgrade the OS, and finished my installation without any heart attack, so I will share my installation steps here to save some effort if you need it

1. Download Multi Language OS
For my 8900 Curve, I downloaded the 8900-v4.6.1.199_P4.2.0.102 version of OS.

2. Install the downloaded OS to your PC, you will need the files from this new OS later on to add multi language support to your BlackBerry device.
A new 8900-v4.6.1.199_P4.2.0.102 folder will be created under C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files.
The CJK.alx is the file we need to use later on.

3. Use Desktop Manager to backup your BlackBerry
Just in case... ^__^

4. Use AppLoader to add extra language support to BB.
Before the installation, go to your AppLoader folder, e.g. C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader, move the Vendor.xml to a backup directory, so you have kept a copy of the file.
Use the loader.exe to load up the AppLoader, follow the wizard, you will be able to add the CJK.alx file to the list at some point.

For details and screen shot of how to add new language support using AppLoader, please look at this Knowledge Gene - [link: 'Install East Asian Language Support for BlackBerry 8900']

* eventually get 10 post count so can post a link

You can export the KGene and document using the pdf export icon, or hover over the first knowde, then click 'Learn more', navigate through the KGene, or click 'Show Full Document' to view the full doc.

Hope this help.
