Quick Pull Application

I'm sorry to post this up here on Tour Discussion, but i tried looking for it everywhere and i couldn't find it.. I just downloaded the quick pull application and as same as everyone, i got my TOUR just last week. And this application lets me schedule a "quickpull" everyday at a certain time, but is this ok to do for such a new device? Are there any negative effect of pulling the battery everynight? Also, is using "quickpull" the same as actually pulling the battery? I read somewhere that using "quickpull" is more of a "soft reset" than a "hard reset", hard reset meaning actually pulling the battery.
thank you

Wirelessly posted (Bold)

No harm- simulates a soft reset. Slightly deeper (or so says the developer and most of the web) than 3 finger salute as it simulates an app removal that would require a reset.

Battery pull is a deeper reset- with the battery being left out for 30 seconds or longer having the most effect.

First I want to say hope your enjoying your new BB. And second, I can see how quickpull can be effective if it ever slows down or your media player isn't working or all of a sudden it freezes, but you don't have to set it to reset every night, even if it is to clear up the memory. I mean I can see how those that have or had a Storm needed to do it (myself included) and see how some with the curve or even maybe the Bold need to do it every night but this BBs' got lots of memory. I haven't seen mine go below 100. I'm happy with its performance.

Hate to piggy back onto this question, but I downloaded QuickPull and seem to be having an issue with it. I have an 8900 with 5.0.0.100 and BBM 5.0 on it. Sometimes QP works great (I have it to reset in the middle of the night) and other times I wake up to a slow flashing red light and must do a battery pull to reset my BB. The issue with this is I keep it in my OtterBox case and it's a pain to undo the case to do the battery pull.

Anyone have any ideas/suggestions?

Thanks in advance

Since OS 5.0 is not really supported by anyone, that may be your culprit. You may want to consider loading the proper OS, since you have it in the otterbox and I would agree that it's a pain to take out for a battery pull.
