Phone answers with keyboard locked?

I use the keyboard lock so I can slip my Pearl in my back pocket but if it rings it quite often answers it before I can take it out of my pocket, or worse, I don't hear it ring and it answers it and the other party hears my conversation. Any ideas?

Welcome the the forums.

I would suggest a holster. It will put it in "sleep" mode and you shouldn't have these issues

Thanks, but I really don't like the holster. Any other ideas? Is there a way to set it up so you need to do a key sequence to answer the call? Kind of like you need to press star and then send to unlock the phone.

Maybe you could manually put the device in standby mode, by pressing and holding the mute button for 1 second?

You can take it out of standby mode by taping the mute button.

If you lock the keyboard with a pin #, it will stay locked after answering a call.

Go to option>Security options>General settings

Hey David
Thanks for the reply, however my problem is not to keep it locked, the problem is my phone answers on its own if locked and in my pocket if it happens to hit the answer button. I am looking for a way of locking it so you have to unlock it to answer a call.

I would suggest using the mute/standby button instead of the keypad lock. I use the keypad lock for a long time, but in the end didn't like it as much.

With using the standby, the only way it'll come out is if you press the standby button again. The only issue I see with that is I still think if you move right it'll answer the call without you knowing, I'm not sure on that one though. Maybe try it for a few days and see what happens?
