microSD Capacity Support
I've seen a few posts on this ... so here's RIMs official stance in a new thread so everyone can see it:
microSD Capacity 2GB from Newegg.com |
To paraphrase:
BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.0 Up to 2GB BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.1 Up to 4GB BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.2 Up to 4GB BlackBerry Device Software 4.3.0 Up to 8GB This is actually what I've experienced and found from other posts. However, I haven't gotten to try an 8Gb in any 4.3 device yet. Nice find! |
Woot - 8GB, here I come - in 1 to 5 months that is...

How about a screen shot of your device screen showing it is "seeing" 8gb |
4.2.2 supports 4GB?
Why does Alltel list 2GB maximum here: BlackBerry 8830 World Edition? |
Don't know but all 4.2.2 devices support 4Gb cards. 4.3 devices support up to 8Gb cards.
|
I guess I'll just shop around for a 4GB card *shrugs*
You can install applications on the microSD cards? Or is it just for media? |
just media...apps need to be installed on the phone...
