Desktop Re-Director without BES

Maybe I should have tried first but seeing my current employer hasn't installed a BES server yet (in the works) and I never bothered to try as my last company had BES can the desktop re-director be used without a BES server?

I only ask because until my current company has the BES server up and running I would like to re-direct Outlook message while away from the office and forwarding email is strictly prohibited.

Just wondering if I'm wasting my time or should I follow another path?

I am currently running the redirector on my desktop. It is sending all my mail from my outlook mailbox to my BB. My company is running Exchange 2000 for email. This setup works great and we are not running BES. The only drawback is that while I get my emails I can not reconcile over the air. The deletes and moves only take place once I plug the BB into the desktop and it syncs. Small price to pay for the convenience.

In that case I must have mised something or I've done something incorrectly with the setup as my re-director has a status of stopped and a red ! beside it in my task bar. Any ideas?

The desktop re-director is designed to be used instead of BES, not with it.

make sure that the password you are using for the email profile is correct. You may want to stop it, open outlook and login, then start it again, confirming the password to make sure.

Sorry, I cannot be much more help, I do not have it running on my machine so I cannot walk you through options, but let me know if you need more help and I will see what I can do.

Got it figured out, for some reason the re-director wasn't recognizing my PIN after some tweaking its up and running.

just to confirm: are there any plans to upgrade the redirector to send contact and calendar requests to the blackberry? Especially calendar..

I think for now its only an option if you have access to BES.
