No I don't have a Blackberry dataplan, I didn't think I was required to have that to use the internet.

Take a look at How to use BlackBerry on Generic Data Plan - BlackBerryFAQ .

You need a blackberry data plan to connect to the blackberry/RIM system and use blackberry applications that use data. This would be the blackberry internet browser, messaging (push email, PIN and blackberry messenger).

But advise you know how you are paying for data. Paying per kB can add up fast.

Alright, thanks. I still think that I'll need to type in my gateway ip and port somewhere on the phone, even though I'm using a generic data plan, right? Do you know where I can do that, I don't think it'll work by just changing the APN.

Alright, I guess it wont work then, because according to my carrier, I'll have to apply either one of these settings on my phone to make it work:


WAP via GPRS:

Username: Leave empty
Password: Leave empty
WAP-Gateway adress: 10.254.254.254
Port: 9201 alternativley 8080

Settings for WAP via GSM:
IP-adress:010.254.254.254
Tel nummer: +46 705960301
Homepage: wap.halebop.se
Samtalstyp: ISDN (Analog if you're abroud)

Settings for GPRS:
IP-adress: 010.254.254.254
Port: 9201
Carrier: GPRS
APN: halebop.telia.se
Homepage: wap.halebop.se

No, I'm not being sarcastic, I followed the instrouctions from the link you posted but it didn't work, so I don't really know what to do.

Oh, never mind, I got the wrong information from my carrier, but I got the correct information now so it works now, I'm sorry.

Note, you will not be able to use the blackberry internet browser. Did you install a third-party browser such as opera mini?
