9630Tour with Chinese input & Display

1 Attachment(s)
Hello all:

1st time posting here.

I got Tour 9630 with 4.7OS, I installed DXinput, works perfect.

However, I got the problem for displaying CHN Font when I am using SMS, all the chinese characters are showed as "?"

What I should do? I installed/updated the font, still not working for SMS.

p.s. I've attached DXinput, just in case someone needs it.

I have installed a multi language support to my 8900 curve, I can now read, write Chinese, include SMS. Have you try download a multi language OS and adding extra language support to your handset?

Does DXInput handle Japanese as well?

Not sure about DX input and how it intigrates with the other applications. However The 9630 should have native support for Chinese, Japanese and Korean input. At least that's how it appears when you look at the CJK loader file. In practice I have yet to get any of these language inputs working.

After many hours of scavenging the web for a solution I have turned up empty handed and decided that the only way I am going to get Asian language input support is to take it upon myself to develop a solution. I am not blackberry developer so this may not be a pleasant path to take.

If you would like to see the progress I have made so far you can turn your browser to this page:
Japanese Romaji input Blackberry Tour - BlackBerry® Tour™ 9630 - BlackBerry Support Community Forums

And Please if you can offer your assistance/advise/pr a all out solution then do not hesitate. It will be welcome.

Here's my take: Japanese input exists for the Blackberry. It was developed on NTT DoCoMo's dime for the Japan market and for Japanese living overseas. Since DoCoMo paid for development, and part of their business model involves charging a premium for Japanese input capable Blackberries for Japanese nationals living outside Japan, they aren't letting Blackberry distribute it stock on Blackberries. In other words, DoCoMo wants a buck if you want to use Japanese on a Blackberry...

I can respect that NTT DoCoMo spent money developing the input language software. In fact I would be willing to pay for a solution that would work with my Tour as I am sure many others would. I would happily give DoCoMo what's theirs if they develop a solution for the Tour.

Sadly no such solution is available or seems to be forth coming from official channels. Thus my crusade has began.
