weird incoming text messages

I have a sprint curve & lately some of my incoming text have been coming in weird. This is an example of what some of them look like.. "%s%hh4[Lr=d 0[#QXe-w@t4-bMPelfu7\lRQ^ 4]#%Hn:+Ih :H!Bl66yLa96ynh0]2QPe3Jr2[L6)\o;KD#!J ;X/$@s2Y$". Can someone tell me what's wrong or am I going to have to give my carrier a visit?

Looks like spam.

When you open the message, what number is it coming from? Someone you know or a number you don't know (I'm guessing it's coming from a 5-digit number).

I'm getting the same thing. texts are coming from people i know. It just starting doing this, this morning. 11/7. I have the sprint 8330 any ideas?

I have 2 Sprint 8330's (one work, one personal). Neither of them are having any issues with sending or receiving the correct text.

Are you able to send text messages ok?

prj309 11-07-2008 12:11 PM

yes i have no problem sending text. my wife is able to read the text that i send her but when she replys, all i see is numbers and symbols. Must be a "sprint glitch", i text myself a couple times and once it worked fine and once it didn't. all seems fine now, for now!!!

Same thing. I just made a thread in the general forum.

I think it's a Sprint thing. It started last night just here/there, but it's been REALLY bad today.

Hmmm...problems with the service on the same day Sprint's stock takes a poo-poo.

davidle504 11-07-2008 09:16 PM

ah so i see it's not just me. i haven't been receiving it anymore, so i guess it was just a sprint server problem?

Seems like it. It stopped yesterday afternoon here.
