They were taken with an 8130.

Good info, will need this to replace a broken screen on a Curve

You left out a lot of detail. The faceplate is harder to take off and a bit tricky.
Also the photos could have been much better. Way too fuzzy.
I don't know how this made a sticky?

Been there done that.

Changed Housing- No Signal?

I changed the housing on my 8310 using these instructions as a guide and now I get no signal and network info is no longer listed on the phone settings. I cannot identify any damage, but replaced the midboard on the off chance that I damaged the antenna. Still no luck. Any ideas or fixes? Thanks.

I am starting to get dust in the upper right top of my screen. Do you think that the seal needs replacing? If yes, then where do I get a new seal? If AT&T would get off their butt, I would just get a Bold.

Thanks for the info. I may need it one day or just want to take apart my 8330 ;-)

When taking off the faceplate - did it seem that replacing the keypad would be a lot of work? Or is it as simple as replacing keypads on say - an old Nokia candybar? (Once the faceplate has been removed, of course)

How hard is it to move everything if you want to change housing colors? I want to go from silver to black, but I would need to change my antenna and keyboard as well. TIA.

Guys my sim card holder broke so I purchased a replacement.
Will I be able to easily get to the solder contacts on the other side of the board so I can replace the socket?

thanks, rob

Right On!

This is a GREAT guide! I also found a video of it on youtube, and I've replaced my red AT&T housing with a nice pink housing. It was as easy as the old Nokia or Motorola v series, really. Tools are almost the same, too. Maybe that is normal with cell phones, I actually don't usually run around taking my phones apart, contrary to my Sig Other's belief! HEHEHE. I will try to post a picture of it!

You are welcome. I had to take mine apart to replace the handset speaker, as mine somehow got blown and was very rattly. Luckily Steve over at HorizonWirelessOnline.com - Horizon Wireless, hooked me up with a new one, but I figured since this was missing from the FAQ I would take pics as I went along.

Nick

Wanted to check how to repair/replace faulty handset speaker for my 8320. Any help here would be very appreciated. Thanks

You should really take it apart at some point so you can clean out the dust. It helps.
