There has got to be a hot key to send a text message

Is there a hot key that goes straight to composing a text message

You do realize you have a BlackBerry, right? It is the premier mobile email device on the market right now.

To answer your question, there's no shortcut key that I'm aware of. You could separate your email and SMS inboxes. Go into the SMS inbox and press the menu key, the first selection should be to compose SMS.

Yeah but not everyone has a blackberry

Damn that sucks, BB needs to get with 2009, texting is the ideal form of communication

BB is with the times. Email is the premier electronic communication method. How many businesses have a number for you to text them on?

Lt_Dan87 03-19-2009 12:04 PM

Well as a 21 year old I highly doubt ill be emailing any businesses so

Texting is used more than emailing BB should know that

"qsms" by berrycoder.com ..
type q ..then find contact ... -> txt message

Love it and highly recommend works on 8300 /9000 confirmed!

I have a work bb (8700g) and a personal bb 9000...And yes email perferred 10 times over.. but some of my contacts are two cheap to pay for a phone data plan(so I compromise).

SMS far to short for anything meaningful...thankfully bb will thread them together!

I do this pretty often. SMS limits you to 160 characters. If I need to send something lengthy, I email it. A lot of my personal friends have BlackBerry devices or mobile email devices including the iPhone or Windows Mobile devices.

If you use that can you still hold Q to change to vibrate?

And DC represent!

Actually, if you go to your contact list, and press the menu key you should have the option of emailing, SMS, MMS the person. This should work out better.
