the Javelin has not been confirmed to be a CDMA device at all. It's supposed to be a 3G-less version of the Bold, it'll be the equivalent to the Curve, which was out on GSM for a year before making it's way to CDMA.

Also, this forum is the 9300 series forum. Meaning all 9300 models. Same as all the curves are in the curve forum, 8800's in the 8800 forum.

Hello, I have a BB curve 9300 but its german so the keyboard layout is diferent (z switch with Y) and also the software, I was thinking on updating the device software to a newer version or a USA version and change the keyboard (hardware) so software and key are the same. Will taht work???
Thanks!!!
Best regs,
Hector.

Hello I am the new guy in town.

I just want to say hello. I am pretty darn new here in the Blackberry world. I currently now own my very first Blackberry ever and it is a Blackberry 8900 Curve (Javelin), and I have to say I absolutly love this thing. 8-)

I now have the Curve 8900 through O2, having upgraded from a Pearl 8120. I like the separate keys for each letter, but it took me a while to work out how to move applications from their folders to the 'Menu' screen. I use the Memo Pad and Calculator quite a lot, so it's easier to access them from the Blackberry button, rather than digging down through menus. Installation of Facebook and Twitter was a doddle, and I've aslo managed to install Mobipocket - kewl!

I upgraded Desktop Manager to 4.7.0.32 with the disc that came with the phone. It syncs ok, but then it searches for updates and I get an error message about the Application Loader, and it asks me to submit an error report.

The Curve hasn't locked up yet like the Pearl used to do - which required a battery pull. All things considered, it's a very nice piece of kit. Next puchase - Bluetooth headphones.

8900 Missing "General Options"

The 8900 is a cool piece of equipment. I, however, have a problem accessing certain of the setup data. Th emanual and even the built-in help function indicates a tree "Options>General Options" to a host of setting but there is no "General Options". I want the phone to forwared my number when I phone or SMS but cannot get to it. Any help out there?

hgils 06-02-2009 04:15 PM

upgraded today

I just got the 8900 today at 10:30 AM8-)
I am impressed I was on a 8310 and it served me well! But this thing is great. Like anything it's a little different but not to much. Yes some of the apps I will need to move but what a joy to have ! Screen quality is nothing short of Awesome !
