Gold and Classy 8900: Pictures of my Golden Javelin Curve!

After a year and some months my T-Mobile 8900 was getting tattered and I didn't want to upgrade to the 9700 Bold that T-Mobile has put out even though I'm eligible for the upgrade.

I prefer to wait and see what comes out next.

So I went the budget route and just got a new housing. I also used the money I saved and got a matching Seiko Pulsar PF3782 Tech Gear Flight Computer Alarm Chronograph Watch to boot. ;-)

Honestly...this looks horrible to me. Sorry.

Don't apologize for your opinions. I welcome any and all criticism.

The reason I swapped out the housing is because it is reversible.
So far I'm happy with it. It will most likely be like this for the Summer (I got a 5 day Caribbean cruise and lots of beach vacation days).

When Autumn comes around I will get an all black or just return to the silver/gray OEM housing. Or hopefully by then there will be a new Berry worth the upgrade that will catch my eye.

here is a video

Not a fan of gold, I think it normally looks tacky, but honestly it doesn't look so bad.

Actually it looks pretty good, not saying I would buy it (I don't like gold) it looks good and flows really well.

The only thing I would say kills it is the keyboard, the red keys, (I had a T-Mobile 8900 as well), I think it kills the device, (whether it was gold on not). The AT&T 8900 keyboard (black and grey keys) I think would flow a lot better, especially with the gold.

mmmmm...Now I look at it I agree with you on the red accented keys. I didn't see it before.
Well now I must find a full uniform keypad.
This is why I love the Javelin. Of all the Blackberry models I've owned it is by far the easiest to modify.
It is like a little Mr Potato Head :?

Actually IMHO i think i looks nice, the red accent gives it a nice touch i wouldn't change it may be the track ball but not the keyboard!!!

Was it hard to change the housing? My warranty is up and my phone is looking pretty beat up but I'd like to wait another year or so before upgrading. The phone itself still works fine.

Now THAT is a really ugly looking BlackBerry.
Now it has a golden casing, but not even 3G :)

If you got it, flaunt it I guess.
I just hope you don't attract the wrong kind of attention with it.

This golden 8900 seems rather nice..! Interesting "version"!
Can I ask where you found the golden covers? I want to see what other covers there are for my Curve.
