Question about the Blackberry 9900

Hi, i am about the buy the blackberry bold 9900 but i have an important questions related to what i read on an another site .
They say that the OS 7 is here for a small duration while blackberry works on QNX who is the future of RIM.
So my question, is the OS-7 will be able to update to the QNX?
if the update is planned from RIM, that would be a very good deal.

Thank you and sorry for my english :?

Moved to the proper section.

I seriously doubt that any of today's devices will run the QNX OS. It is that different. From all indications the BB10 device will be required.

BB10 might require a dual core CPU and no BB has that at the moment besides playbook.

I have a quad core 9900. That's what the guy at Bell told me. I'm special. I will be running BB11 on mine.

Re: Question about the Blackberry 9900

The change from BlackBerry 7.1 to QNX will be a slow one. First, all-touch devices and touch + keyboard devices will be brought over. The phones like the Bold 9930 will likely be last, as QNX will require the most polishing to work in that style of phone and work for those types of customers. If you buy a 9930 today, you will likely be eligible for a new phone by the time that QNX has come to the Bold line.

Re: Question about the Blackberry 9900

I doubt there will be any 'changeover' It has been discussed/debated ad nauseum. Timeline looks like the phone will be dropping November/December of this year, but I am sure there may be a carrier that offers upgrades every 7-8 months.

BB10 will not be running on any device that is currently available. All apps that currently work on now on an existing device will not be available for any BB10 device.
