Cannot 'find' contacts in my address book

Equipment: BB 8703e & iBook G4 running OS 10.4.9
Sync Software: PocketMac

Hi,

I just transferred almost 1,000 contacts from my Mac's address book to my Bb's address book the other day. All appear in my Bb's address book.

Here's the snag ....

Say I want to find the telephone number of Pete Wilson. There are about 50 people in my address book with a last name beginning with W. I open my Bb address book where I see the work 'Find' at the top of the screen. I type in the letter W only to see the message * No Addresses *. This is wrong. There are 50+ addresses associated with people who have a last name beginning with W. Same thing happens if I search on any letter of the alphabet.

Anyone know how to resolve this snag? Thanks.

The same thing happened with my Memos a while back. It resolved just as mysteriously as it occurred. I created a new Memo on the BB. After that, the Find function was restored to normal.

Try creating a new contact (dummy if necessary) on the BB, save it, and then try the Find again. I think the BB is waiting for something to resolve when it acts like this. Let us know if you're successful.

Oh, and make sure you know how to b/u your 1000 addresses in Address Book!!

If I manually select a contact on my BB and re-save it I can then use the 'Find' function to find it. Thanks.
