Can not view email folders

Can someone tell me how I can view my email folders? I could on an older BB version and now I can't. Can someone help me please?

I believe it should be Messages->Options->Email Settings, access the menu & choose Folder Redirection

I only show the following options under email settings...
Enable HTML email
confirm delivery
confirm read
send read receipts

Once in there, press the Menu key, then you will see the option for Folder Redirection.

In my case, this view only shows my AT&T Yahoo Inbox and SPAM folders. It does not show any of the user-created directories on my account. Is there any way to get it to recognize these?

This feature is for devices connected to a BES. BIS does not support folder redirection.

Wow, that's interesting, because I have the option displayed on my Curve, and I'm on BIS. For some reason, I was under the assumption that only relevant menu items would be displayed.

You will have the option. However, as you've noticed, you don't see your personal folders you've created. On BES, you would see your entire folder structure there.

Does this hold true for POP and IMAP accounts as well as Exchange server?

jsconyers 06-24-2009 11:26 AM

I can't answer this with 100% certainty as I don't use Exchange, nor have I without being attached to a BES. AFAIK, you cannot do this with simply connecting the POP/IMAP to BIS to forward the mail to device. However, I believe if you use Desktop Redirector in Destop Manager, you will have the ability to access your sub-folders.

After choosing folder redirection all I see is a spam folder as well. Unfortunately I don't even know what BES and BIS mean... I would really appreciate some super basic instruction...

BIS = BlackBerry Internet Service. This is personal accounts such as Hotmail, Yahoo, Gmail, etc.

BES = BlackBerry Enterprise Server. This is for corporations. Exchange, Domino and GroupWise.
