Calendar Question?

Is it possible for a user to view a shared calendar on a BBerry?
For example, and admin assistant that wants to see her boss's calendar from her bberry. She has read/write permissions to it now through Outlook. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I don't see how that can be done easily, because the calendar would be in a resource mailbox which isn't enabled on the BES.

I think there are some third party solutions out there, but I think they're mainly related to syncing a calendar into your calendar for view on the move. Not a "live view" on the shared calendar itself.

Chris.

I believe there was another thread on this the other day.

Short answer - yes

You need to sync with desktop manager daily and the "admin" would only have the boss's calendar and lose her own.

Thanks for the input.

Hello jletendre and all. New to this forum. The problem rehrig posed is exactly what I would like to do; let my office manager access my contacts and calendar on her blackberry, she's already got read/write access on her desktop through a hosted exchange service with AppRiver. Losing her own contacts/calendar from the Blackberry is acceptable, but not sure what you meant by syncing with the desktop manager daily.
Currently the syncing is real-time via the AppRiver for my BB. Is this a doable thing for her BB? Can it be done with hosted exchange services or do I need my own exchange server? Thanks for any advice.

By the way, AppRiver said this wasn't possible, as her BB would only sync with her own calendar and contacts, not the ones I'm sharing with her from my desktop.

Hi,

I'll write up the steps for this but need to install an older version of Desktop Manager.

Basically your OM will need to be able to access (from Outlook folder view) to do this. You should be able to get the settings for your hosted exchange unless they only allow access via Outlook Web Access?

Get Outlook setup and I'll work on Desktop manager and the steps to do this.
