i opened viber.com and i opening the F.A.Q. and i pressed on a question thats says what are the cellphones that have viber and it wrote iphone android and blackberry version is on the work! i read it on the officail viber website which means it will come but when ???

Viber was first announced for BlackBerry last year, June 5th, 2011. They announced a Beta release 'soon'. Almost 9 months later, still nothing. I gave up waiting awhile back.

You will be pleased to know that Viber for Blackberry is just around the corner now.
We are in the last days of beta testing, and presently compiling reviews from our beta testers. We hope to close this stage by the end of this month, and then finally release Viber for BlackBerry [beta] to AppWorld for all to download.

Viber is available in App World (Beta) no voip function yet, so it acts like a cross platform IM app. I have been hearing reports that people who install this and have Whatsapp installed, lose all their contacts in Whatsapp. They still appear but they are only visible via their phone number. Same users reported things going back to normal after they deleted Viber.

I installed it, meh, it's a cross platform IM app. Does ask for your number, connects to your contact list, BBM connected, and I think you can send invites or msgs through BBM as well.(Not sure)

Yes, when will the calling function be available? But then we'll have yahoos on planes trying to use the airplane's wi-fi to make calls. That will make life aboard an airplane even more hellish than it is now.

Well, Viber has mentioned on almost every forum how difficult it is trying to get their voip stuff working with the current BBs.....

Don't see an app for the PB (Maybe one day? who knows)

11 months from announcement to Beta for something that was easy, gonna be a long road ahead for voip, and they are not the only ones working on it.

Releasing the beta version with messaging only is only the first step. We are working around the clock to bring the VoIP feature to our fans, and we hope to complete it within the next few to several months. We'll keep you posted with news.
