My torch will not charge using USB on my computer

Hi can anyone advise on how to get a TORCH to charge using the usb on my computers. Have downloaded the latest BB desktop manager and tried a utility to boost power to the the USB port already.

Are you using a BB USB cord or generic?

Are you connecting to a USB port on the back of your PC close to the motherboard, not a hub or on the monitor or keyboard?

using the usb cable that came with the BB. tried connecting to the front, back, laptop. my curve charged fine.

Will it charge using a wall outlet or car charger?

Can you connect to the device from the computer? Does it show the PIN in BDM 6? The phone should prompt if you want to sync it or charge only when plugged into the computer, does this happen?

If you can connect with the software I would say do a backup of your data and reload the phone from factory.

Are you getting the bolt through the charge indicator?

Also under options > application management > blackberry system software 6 > edit permissions > connections. That "USB" is set to "allowed"

For what it's worth I saw the same behavior today on a VZW 8530 that I updated to the .886 version of the software. It recognized usb( that's how I did the upgrade) but after the upgrade, I got a message on the device saying their wasn't adequate power coming over usb to charge the device. :?

I also found this KB..one thing they mention is to turn of usb power management. I've had to do that in the past for scanners conected via usb...KB10938
