Do you think that is really RIM's problem?

The tablet looks slick but that video is awful.

Mind numbing actually. But the tablet specs (and that keyboard) look great.

Not entirely. This didn't help them in any way, I'm sure. However, this is just AT&T's sales. There are a ton of other carriers out there, plus AT&T had the exclusive iPhone contract for years as well, so their numbers would have probably differed from Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile. This also does not take into account carriers across the globe.

As an owner of a PlayBook (7"), Kindle Fire (7") and iPad (10.3") I actually prefer the 10.3". Different strokes for different folks.

Nice tablet; it will be interesting to see what it has for apps and what we can do with it. I do like keyboards, which is one of the negatives about the iPad. Having said that, an old Freedom Wireless keyboard that is no longer supported with the Blackberry does work with the iPad, so at least I'm getting a bit more life out of one peripheral.

As I said sometime ago, Windows 8 is the next manufactured big thing. Hell, I was just getting used to the idea of an Apple phone.

win 7 tablets were too expensive, I looked at an ASUS one but stuck with a mainstream lappy instead in case I ever needed parts for it.

Win 8 looks nice but 2 OS versions is going to confuse people and tick them off when their apps wont work with an upgrade or down grade.

All Windows 7 apps will run on Windows 8. Obviously Metro apps will not work on Windows 7. And Microsoft, unlike RIM, will market the crap out of their tablets. And they are building stores to do just that.

Does this mean the stores will sell crap? Can I use it to fertilize my garden?

Since it is about 1000 degrees in Houston, I doubt you can grow anything.

I can confirm that it is very hot in Houston. I was there yesterday. 101 degrees.
