Blackberry Messenger Freezes/Hangs up

Hi,

I have a Blackberry Bold 9700 running on a v5.0.0.321 (Platform 5.1.0.90) and my Blackberry Messenger 5.0.0.57 keeps freezing/hanging up. When it does this I can not open any conversation threads, send or receive new messages.

I eventually end up doing a battery pull and then rebooting my blackberry to get it working again. Sometimes this happens 3-5 times a day and sometimes once a week.

I have deleted and reinstalled the blackberry messenger application about 3 times and that has not worked.

Suggestions and solutions would be most welcome!

Thx

Look at what other applications you have installed, particularly what is open and running. Some applications will run in the background when closed. I suspect there's some conflict with BBM. Are you seeing anything else, performance lagging or slowing down? Or just BBM hanging?

Please. Only one post is necessary, not 3. Your other 2 posts have been closed.

no other performance lags and i dont have any other apps running in the background. It's all very strange! Had an old BB curve before and never had any trouble with it..

(thanks for closing other posts, wasn't sure where the right place was!)

Do you keep conversations open for a long time, building up huge threads? If so, try ending conversations when you are done communicating for the moment, instead of leaving it open, and see what happens.

Maybe try updating your OS..that might help. and as Ira said, shut your conversations when you're done communicating. apparently, and correct me if i'm wrong, BBM sucks up a lot of memory, even though the inbuilt app memory on this is much better than previous BB's. So that could cause a freeze if you're on BBM 24/7.
