Solid white screen after lost Pearl returned

This is my first post here. Just a month ago I bought my first "smart phone" the blackberry pearl. 5 days ago I think I dropped it from my lap onto the ground when I was picking up my mail on a snowy evening. I put posters up for a $50 reward for return of the missing phone. I didn't hear back from anyone so yesterday I bit the bullet and ordered a new blackberry from T Mobile who are now shipping it to me.
Okay, Murphy's law.....today I got a telephone call from a young gal saying she had found my phone. She was very interested in the reward. A few hours ago I got the phone back. The SIM card had been removed (I had suspended the service). The phone has a glowing white screen that I cannot clear. The phone can receive and send calls and I have a new SIM card in it now.
I called Tmobile and the liquid damage indicator shows no water damage. They said I could reload the applications from my desktop. I did that and still the glowing white screen. Does anyone know a trick to get rid of this solid white screen or is this phone history? I appreciate your help. Thank you.

I would try wiping the device using JL_Cmder and then reloading the operating system:

thanks

Jeremy,
Thanks for your rapid reply. I am not very gifted in the technology department. However, I am going to try the wiping tonight. I will post my outcome. Again many thanks. Bonny

installing Jl Cmder

I am having trouble installing the Jl_Cmder. It is a Vista problem? Thanks if you know.

Open up the back where the battery is and look for a small square sticker. It should be white but may be another color. If it is not white, you may have water damage (from the snow). You could try drying it out first for a few days and then try it again. Otherwise, it may be a hardware issue

you should also check the battery for liquid damage, the red X's or the line should be solid red, no pink around it/them
