PaperIQ Introduces Anoto Digital Pen Integration Kit To Facilitate Rapid Integration with BlackBerry Smartphone Applications and Enterprise Systems
BlackBerry Alliance Members To Benefit From Device And Server Integration APIs, FormModeler Tool And Non-Commercial Licences

ORLANDO, FL –Wireless Enterprise Symposium 2008, (Booth#646) – BlackBerry® Independent Software Vendor (ISV) Alliance Member and WES 2008 Silver Sponsor PaperIQ today launched the Anoto Digital Pen Integration kit for the BlackBerry platform. The free-of-charge integration kit contains non-commercial evaluation licences for PaperIQ Enterprise Server, MyScript® FormModeler for PaperIQ Server and Anoto pattern to create two digital paper forms. The sample applications included with the integration kit demonstrate how to rapidly integrate the Anoto Digital Pen with a BlackBerry® smartphone application using PaperIQ’s Router or with an enterprise system using PaperIQ Enterprise Server via the fully documented interfaces provided.

PaperIQ Enterprise Server incorporates MyScript handwriting recognition and leverages the security and manageability of the BlackBerry® Enterprise Server from Research In Motion (RIM) (Nasdaq: RIMM; TSX:RIM) to ensure that large numbers of Anoto Digital Pens may be easily and quickly deployed and managed within an enterprise.

The Anoto Digital Pen and the PaperIQ Router allow a mobile worker to easily capture enterprise form data simply using their handwriting and their BlackBerry smartphone. This provides users with rapid mobile data capture access when away from their desks, whilst allowing them to continue to use the paper forms that their customers and the enterprise are comfortable with. The lower capital cost compared to traditional PC-based data-capture systems enables organizations to realize a strong return on investment, enhance customer relationships and increase productivity.

James Shannon, Technical Director at PaperIQ, comments: “We are excited that we can now offer a rapid integration solution to our fellow BlackBerry Alliance Program members that will allow Anoto Digital Pen and Paper to become a common data capture mechanism for BlackBerry smartphone applications. The sample applications provided in the new integration kit demonstrate how quickly and easily signatures, barcode or complete digital form data may be captured by a partner’s application – either on a BlackBerry smartphone or at the server.”

PaperIQ is demonstrating the integration kit at the Wireless Enterprise Symposium conference in Orlando from May 13 – 15, 2008 in booth #646. It is also available from PaperIQ - Anoto Digital Pen Integration Kit for BlackBerry.
