4.7.1.57 Update on my 9630

About 6:15 this evening I received an e-mail saying there is a update for my phone. I thought it was bbm 5.0 which I all ready had on the phone, so I did the wireless update on the phone the the phone said there was no update. So I said what the heck and plugged the phone in the old PC and what do you know 4.7.1.57 update was ready to load and it did.

Keep us posted on how stable 4.7.1.57 is; BDM also
prompted me for an update but it failed three times after
backing up the device in the step where it attaches to the boot rom
in the update; so I don't know what's happening..looks like a process
is timing out..

You may want to consider the 5.0 beta. It is running rather stable compared with .53

Nothing on mine. Checked wireless updates as well as Verizon's site.

Looks like this update is only available to Sprint devices. Can download it from here:

BlackBerry - Update your Device Software

I'm upgrading as I type.

Seems like this is a BES update only. As I am not an enterprise customer after entering my PIN all I see is the stock OEM version .40.

No, this is a BIS upgrade. The device I updated is not on a BES.

At this time the update is only available for Sprint customers through Desktop Manager.
Fixes Google Maps GPS issue is the first thing I've noticed..

Oh, hey, that's a great fix to have. That's been bugging me. Thanks for posting that.

Wirelessly posted (AT&T 8100 Pearl)

Thanks for mentioning Sprint and GoogleMaps as I noticed that problem too. Plugged my Tour in and got the .57 update too!

Did you state that GPS had issues with this OS? Thought you may have said that in the recent past. Just checking.

it fixes the gps issues with goggle maps, I still think sprintnav responds slow when closing.
My signal is slightly better. I was sitting next to a guy who was on AT&T this weekend and he had no signal and I was texting away

GPS had issues with BBM 5.0? NOT The OS.
