Blackberry Simulator does not connect to BES neither Internet.
 

Hello, I have used Blackberry simulators in the past to try Enterprise Activation by internet connection. It used to work some months ago, but I downloaded new simulators and they don't connect to Internet neither let me activate in BES. I tried the same user credentials in a real device just in case and it worked.
for example, the Orange 8800 simulator shows edge (lower case). Not sure if the simulator should be uppercase EDGE or GPRS. If so, how could I try to change that?
My main drivers for that is to install some simulators for my help desk team get used to different devices because company won't budget devices to them.

You have to download the MDS simulator is you want the device simulators to access the internet. If your want to perform an Enterprise Activation on the device simulator you have to install Desktop Manager and then tell the device simulator to simulate a USB connection. I think there are a couple of BlackBerry Knowledge articles about it.

You're right, it worked with MDS. I read about it in some posts but I thought it was another subject. I was sure it might work just by the device simulator itself.
